In order to ensure the Philly Pumptrack is a safe, family-friendly environment, riders must abide by the following rules & requirements.

Every visitor must sign a waiver and every youth under the age of eighteen must have a parent or guardian sign a waiver to ride. We require closed-toed shoes to be on the track and helmets are required. You can ride your own bike without pegs. Other rules and requirements include:

  1. No pets inside the fenced area
  2. No fighting
  3. No smoking
  4. No open fires on site

There are a few other Philadelphia Parks and Recreation rules that you can find onsite.

Riding Gear

The following riding gear is required for pumptrack usage:

  • Helmets (free loaner helmets are available at the track)
  • Appropriate footwear (no open-toed shoes)

Other gear like gloves or elbow/knee pads may be recommended but is not required.

Bikes & Equipment

Riders are welcome to bring their own bikes, and loaner bikes are also available at the track. Loaner bikes are subject to availability and are first-come, first-served.

Dirt jump and BMX bikes are the most popular (pegs on BMX bikes must be removed) and tires smaller than 26″ work best. Bikes with narrow tires (like road bikes) are not ideal and may be denied usage as they may damage the track.

Track Rules

Youth under the age of 18 must begin on the small track and be able to pass a test to move to the advanced track. The rule is you must be able to make 10 laps on the small track without pedaling to advance to the big track. Once someone has done that they receive a medal that they should retain and bring so staff remember who has graduated to the big track. Adults who enter and sign a waiver can ride either track.

Food & Beverage

You are allowed to bring food and non-alcoholic beverages inside the track. It is a park and we hope you will picnic and enjoy your time at the track. We supply water on most days and have a bbq at the track that visitors are welcome to use to grill. We also have a flyer for a pizza and hoagie shop around the corner if you are looking to order for a group.
